A Healthy Life

Food for Thought Essays

In this modern world we think about a lot of things every day.  What-to-do, how-to-be, and who-to-fear consume much of our mindshare.  Regrettably, what we eat gets little quality time for thought even though we eat several times a day. For most of us, eating is a repetitious pattern and food has become a cliché defined by early upbringing, convenience, corporate promotions and trust in authorities to alert us to harm.

This section offers some short essays by Landtasia staff that come from our experiences of working at the production of healthy natural food.  We share these insights, reflections and challenges with you to plant some seeds for thought.

It’s been said that if you could ask a fish what it is living in, it would not readily tell you, 'water'. That’s because it is so encompassing and always present the fish doesn't think about it.  Such baseline assumptions have the benefit of conserving mental energy, but they also come with risk, such as when the water chemistry changes adversely and doesn’t support life as it once did.

Food is where life begins for each of us. Without it, our mothers would not have conceived, nor would we have been sustained after birth. Food is to us what water is to fish – something that is ever pervasive and defines our very nature, yet whose essential qualities and outcomes are rarely considered.

We hope you find these essays interesting, thought provoking and contribute to you and your loved ones having a healthy life.
